1.How long have you been at Voris and how long have you been a teacher?
I am lucky to have been at Voris for my entire teaching career- 13 years. This is my fifth year teaching 2nd grade.  Before that I taught 3rd grade, LLI (Leveled Literacy Intervention), and was a tutor for a couple of years.
2.Tell us about your family.
I have been married to my wonderful husband Joe for 13 years and we have 3 terrific kids- Cordy (12), Leni (8) and Sully (5). We also have two cats, Primmy and Beebs, and a little turtle named Buddy.
3.Why did you decide to become a teacher?
Just about every teacher I had in elementary school left a lasting, positive impression on me and how I view reading in particular. Because of this, and from an early age, I knew I also wanted to be able to give children enriching and impactful school experiences and inspire a love of learning in them. So much is given to us through books, and if I could teach someone how to read and then in turn read to learn, then I have helped to open up a whole world at their fingertips.
4.What are some of your hobbies/interests?
I love having game nights (some may even say I'm a teeny-tiny bit competitive) and movie nights with my family. I enjoy vacationing and doing all sorts of outdoor activities. I am interested in history, especially in the way people once lived. I am also a fan of books and like to write my own stories from time to time.
